As with Perideo MPM, Perideo DCS came into being by way of necessity, and because all the commercially available systems were either too inflexible, or too expensive. The two products were developed separately, at different times, both using the same fundamental building blocks: A relational database engine (MySQL) and a configurable, customizable user interface and query generator.

Perideo DCS manages and/or generates (among others) the following:

Documents (usually a drawing) are easily looked up by part number or description, and displayed with ready links to all their related docs, such as sub-parts, next assemblies (used on), past revisions, authorizations, etc.
